Saturday Side Project
What if anything could sound like a Lightsaber? Hands free ignition, sounds react to the motion of your arm, even clashes 💥
A laser sword simulator for iPhone and Apple Watch
Download Press Kit App icon, screenshots and videos · ZIP, 95 MBKyber turns your iPhone or Apple Watch into a laser sword. Swing it and it hums, swooshes and clashes, with sound and haptics driven by your movement in real time. It feels incredibly nice, and it's surprisingly fun (I hope).

A long time ago, from a developer far, far away…
Roll the credits 🎶
First crack at porting this to iOS — the haptics matching the hums and swings are incredibly satisfying. I also did my best at matching the pulsing and rotoscoping effect from the original trilogy effects 👀
I also tried to replicate those artifacts on the credits and crawler from the original 1977 version, where for some reason the blue channel dies first during the fade, as well as some strange glow (maybe @tvaziri will know 😅)
What about a Tie Fighter mode?
3D cockpit with dynamic lighting, lasers on tap, dynamic sounds that react to the movement…
Also on the watch… grab a toy spaceship, start the mode, and the ship comes to life 😂 double tap gesture triggers the blasters
I’m trying to come up with more creative ways of shooting watchOS apps in video… this is a hard device to capture, it doesn’t help that the screen goes off as soon as you turn your wrist 📽️
Kyber is now live on the App Store!
It’s a silly lightsaber app for iPhone and Apple Watch that people seem to have a lot of fun with, share it with your nerdy friend ❤️
@rafa potentially the best subtitle on the App Store.

New party trick — Force activation.
Any guesses on how it’s done?
